Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

BVM Consultancy Agency is seeking an experienced Ticketing & Reservations Specialist with practical knowledge of airline reservations, fare structures, global distribution systems (GDS), and end-to-end ticket processing.

  • Reservations & Ticket Issuance: Handle domestic and international airline bookings, create Passenger Name Records (PNRs), and issue tickets accurately across multiple airline platforms.

  • Post-Ticketing Management: Manage complex itinerary changes, flight rebooking, ticket re-issuances, cancellations, refunds, and voids in accordance with specific airline fare rules and penalty policies.

  • Advisory & Customer Support: Provide detailed guidance to clients regarding baggage allowances, flight schedules, booking classes, fare restrictions, tax breakdowns, and entry/transit requirements.

  • Systems & Partner Coordination: Operate GDS platforms confidently while liaising with partner airlines, travel agencies, and corporate clients to maintain clear booking and transaction records.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Work Experience: Proven professional experience in airline ticketing, travel agency operations, or aviation reservations (hands-on experience is mandatory).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo/Travelport.

    • Strong working knowledge of fare construction, fare basis codes, booking classes, and ticket rule interpretations.

  • Education & Certifications:

    • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Travel & Tourism, Airline Ticketing, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related fields.

    • Professional IATA or GDS certifications and international routing experience are considered an added advantage.

  • Competencies: High numerical accuracy, multi-tasking under peak booking periods, strong computer literacy, and excellent customer service skills in English and Swahili.
