Key responsibilities

The Fuel Officer will be responsible for:

  • Managing and controlling all fuel operations, including receiving, issuing, storage, and reconciliation.
  • Monitoring fuel stock levels and ensuring the accuracy of fuel records.
  • Processing fuel transactions and maintaining accurate data in the SAP system.
  • Generating reports and analysing fuel consumption and trends.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders on fuel-related matters.
  • Ensuring the efficient use of fuel and reducing losses and wastage.
  • Supporting audits and providing the necessary documentation.

Qualifications and experience

Candidates must have:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Purchasing and Supplies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in fuel management or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with the SAP system, which is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the Employment and Labour Relations Act (ELRA) and occupational health and safety, which will be an added advantage.
